I don’t like waiting!

7 January 2022 I put the date there to remind me how long it has been since I ordered the Freewrite Typewriter. It was November 5 2021 and I had used up all the money I was paid for being on a Citizens Jury looking at developing a boulevard that will look very much as it does now but with a few more plants — much like Parliament.

I had hoped it would be shipped in December so I could spend at least some of the summer enjoying the mechanical keyboard in the fresh air. Not to be. I have yet to receive it and summer is already one third over.

I do have the Freewrite Traveler that I use — ironically for just these types of writings — and while I have written well over 10000 words on it since I received it in July 2021, I don’t enjoy using the scissor-type keyboard it has. I don’t like flat keys. Chiclet keys are especially heinous followed very closely by any other non-mechanical keyboard like keys.

It wasn’t always that way. I used a “Standard” plastic dimple pressing on a copper contact much like every other keyboard you’d get at an office supplies store regardless of the brand name on the cover. I often bought the two packs of a keyboard and mouse and convinced myself I was getting a good deal. Then I tried a mechanical keyboard that was on display somewhere and I was hooked.
